About Me

Hi, I’m Lexi Davis—former Division I softball pitcher, licensed counselor, and founder of SISU Elite Mental Performance.

As a student-athlete at Auburn University from 2012 to 2016, I experienced firsthand the mental demands that come with high-level competition.

Today, I help athletes and professionals build the mental skills needed to perform with confidence, consistency, and resilience.

With master’s degrees in Education, Exercise Science, and Clinical Counseling, I bring a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to mental performance. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina and an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) in Georgia, specializing in working with athletes at the collegiate, high school, and travel levels.

Through SISU Elite, I support athletes in navigating the mental side of sport—helping them thrive not just in competition, but in life.

My Story

Sports have always been a central part of my life. As a pitcher, I was often praised for being mentally tough—but what most people didn’t see were the silent struggles: the pressure to perform, the fear of failure, and the internal battles that came with chasing big goals.

It wasn’t until I was deep into my college career that I realized just how important the mental game truly is. While physical training was a given, there were few resources to help athletes train their minds. That realization sparked a passion that shaped my path long after my final pitch.

After my playing days, I pursued advanced degrees in education, sport science, and counseling to better understand how to support athletes from every angle. I combined that knowledge with my lived experience to create SISU Elite Mental Performance—a space where athletes can learn to manage pressure, build confidence, and develop the mental edge they need to compete at their best.

I believe that every athlete deserves support—not just for what they do, but for who they are. That’s why I meet athletes where they are and walk alongside them through every stage of their journey.

What Sets SISU Apart?

What sets SISU apart is simple: the perspective I bring is rare.

There are a lot of people out there offering mental performance coaching—but very few have actually lived it and studied it at the level I have.

Only a small fraction of athletes ever reach the Division 1 level. I was one of them. I competed at a top SEC softball program that made it to the Women's College World Series not once, but twice. I pitched in the National Championship against the top team in the country. I experienced the pressure, the expectations, and the grind of high-level athletics firsthand. I know what it's like to perform in front of thousands of fans and feel like your heart is going to beat right out of your chest.

That lived experience gives me a level of understanding that can’t be taught in a classroom—because I’ve lived the moments most athletes only dream about.

But I didn’t stop at experience—I went deep into the why behind performance.

I hold advanced degrees in Education, Exercise Science, and Counseling, and I’m a licensed mental health professional in both Georgia and North Carolina. This background allows me to go beyond surface-level “mindset” coaching. I use evidence-based tools to help athletes build confidence, manage stress, bounce back from failure, and stay locked in—on and off the field.

What makes SISU different is the unique combination of:

  • Elite athletic experience

  • Specialized, relevant education

  • Clinical mental health expertise

I don’t hand athletes a motivational quote and send them on their way. I meet them where they are, build trust, and help them create mental skills they can lean on for life—not just their next game.

This isn’t surface-level. It’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s real, personal, and built on years of experience—both on the field and in the field of mental performance.
